From the Gold
Dust Guestbook “I loved
paying my bill. It didn’t cost a lot and I had a lot of fun reading the crazy
red-neck jokes on Billy’s office walls.”
— Shane “I was so
blown away by Billy’s hospitality, the valley’s beauty, and the friendliness
of every Gold Bridger I met, I immediately moved here.” — aRA Miles “Don’t tell
anybody, but Billy knows the best trails. And he’s always gotta be first over
the top! The rooms were great too; great shower heads. — Jake Gold Dust Motel; home away from home. |

Billy Watts
owns the Gold Dust Motel in partnership with his mother, Darlene Watts. Billy
and Darlene also co-own a plumbing company called PM Mechanical,
out of Vancouver. PM stands for
pre-maintenance. The company provides plumbing services for large restaurant
chains and other clients. Between sled trips and managing the motel, Billy
also looks after the plumbing needs of the Bridge River Valley. On Billy’s
first trip to the Valley, he knew that this is where he was going to live.
Came up to ride an old ’69 skidoo. Didn’t make the alpine, but fell in love
with the mountains. He waits all summer to watch that snowline finally reach
town. So if you want to know about trail conditions, contact Billy. He keeps
up on the latest news. Billy has
horses and enjoys riding them. His
best love however is fresh powder snow and mountain trails, and being able to
spend as much time as possible in the winter on his favourite sled trails. He
loves the high alpine and the beauty of snow clad mountain heights. After all,
there’s gold in them thar hills! |
